Here is a draft history of the development of phone chargers in English:
The Evolution of Phone Chargers
The first mobile phones that were commercially available in the 1980s had permanently attached chargers. These bulky chargers had to be plugged into an outlet to charge the phone’s battery.
In the early 1990s, phones started being made with removable batteries. This allowed separate battery chargers, making recharging more convenient. However, the phone manufacturers had not standardized the chargers, so chargers were often incompatible across brands.
Around the mid-1990s, the first travel chargers appeared. These could charge a phone battery without the phone itself having to be connected. However, they were still brand and model specific.
In the late 1990s, as mobile phones became more widespread, the European Commission pushed for a standardized phone charger. This led to the first International Standard charger for mobile phones being released in 1999 by the International Electrotechnical Commission.
In 2009, the MicroUSB connector was introduced and soon widely adopted by all major mobile phone manufacturers. This first universal charger worked across brands and phone models.
Currently, USB-C is becoming the new standard charging connector for mobile phones and other devices. With a reversible design and fast charging capabilities, USB-C aims to replace the older MicroUSB and Lightning connectors. Major phone manufacturers like Samsung and Apple have started adopting USB-C ports on their newest models.
The evolution of phone chargers shows an overall trend toward convenience, compatibility, and universality. With new standards like USB-C, customers no longer have to worry about carrying multiple proprietary chargers for their different devices.
